After lunch, we going to visit Ollantaytambo, often called a “living Inca town,” Ollantaytambo is a unique site where Inca urban planning remains intact and active. We will explore its impressive stone architecture and ceremonial platforms, including a rare stepped pyramid structure surrounded by terraces once used for structural rather than agricultural purposes. This town also served as a strategic stronghold during the resistance against the Spanish conquistadors.
On our return to Cusco, we visit the picturesque town of Chinchero, known for its ancestral textile traditions. Here, we explore the archaeological site and the colonial-era Church of Our Lady of Monserrat, built atop Inca foundations.
